Future vision — artist’s impressionA Mikvah for Our Community
We hope to establish our own beautiful, private mikvah for the Central Coast Jewish community. This page and project are currently being developed.
This is a future community vision. Chabad Central Coast does not currently operate a local mikvah. The nearest current options are listed below in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and North Shore.
What Is a Mikvah?
A mikvah is a specially constructed pool of naturally gathered water, built according to Jewish law for ritual immersion. Its best-known use is part of the Jewish laws of family purity, and it is also used for conversion and other moments of spiritual transition. It is not a bath — preparation takes place beforehand. Immersion represents spiritual renewal, holiness and Jewish continuity.
Why the Central Coast Needs a Mikvah
At present, Central Coast families need to travel to mikvah facilities in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs or North Shore. A local mikvah would provide closer, dignified and discreet access — strengthening Jewish family life, supporting continuity, and helping Jewish families build their lives on the Central Coast.
Current Sydney Mikvah Options
For now, these existing facilities welcome the broader Sydney community.
Please contact the mikvah directly before travelling to confirm appointments and current access.
